Our Emerging Talent Programs, which includesInterns, Trainees, and Finance Rotational Associates, offer unique opportunities for students, recent graduates, and emerging talent to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that builds on your experience and develops your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, and many educational and social networking opportunities.
This FallInternship is from September through December 12th(start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 10-29 hours/week, in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Theinternprogram will consist of numerous research projects to be assigned by the EVP ofGlobalPublicityand/or theGlobalPublicityteam. These will include and not be limited to researching information regarding filmmakers, talent, reps, competitive releases, screenings, film festivals, venues, etc. Theinternwill also assist with updating department documents such as film calendars, strategy, memos, etc. The Fall 2025internwill help the department with the preparation for upcoming events like domestic andinternational activations, participate in weeklypublicitystaff meetings, and work press junkets and premieres. Theinternwill also be asked to conduct script coverage and contribute creative ideas forglobalcampaigns.
TheGlobalPublicityteam works with filmmakers and talent reps to create the overallpublicitycampaign for a film. TheGlobalPublicityteam consists of three teams who are assigned specific film titles. Each team is made up of: SVPs, VPs, Directors, Senior Publicists, Junior Publicists, Coordinators and Assistants. The team also includes team members working across all titles in New York, London, Canada, Photo, Events, and Social.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Internresponsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Researching and updating talent/filmmaker information in pertinent documents
Updating film calendars on a weekly basis
Participating in department and team meeting brainstorms for press strategy discussions, event and activation ideas, and content rollout plans; offering thoughtful ideas and input
Reading scripts and writing script coverage on an as needed basis
Updating ourinternal SharePoint documents
Helping at off-site events/activations/screenings nearby as needed
Planning for and helping at Press Screenings, Junkets, & Premieres
Strategizing all media campaigns with fellow team members
Interacting with allglobalmarketing departments including Digital/Social, Brand Management, Intersectional, Exhibitor/National Partnerships, Consumer Products/Experience, Operations, etc.
Monitoring domestic andinternational press (online, print, and broadcast)
Competitive research and other research projects on an as-needed basis
Theinternwill gain experience/exposure to the following:
Film marketing from a studio perspective
Working at Junkets and Premieres
Opportunities to interact one-on-one with executives
Time management and organization skills
Collaborating with many different teams in the department
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Interest to pursue a career inPublicity, Marketing, and/or Communications
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
Knowledge of Social Media platforms (X, TikTok, Instagram etc.).
Proficient inInternet research and experience in a professional office environment
Entertainment experience preferred
Common sense, dependability and discretion are required
Solid understanding of the Sony brand andinternal synergy needs
Strong inter-departmental working relationships
