SPE Finance and Accounting is transforming into a global, enterprise-based organization focused on process improvement, standardization, simplification, and efficient use of technology. The Global Finance Operations (GFO) team is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting while partnering with business and FP&A teams to drive performance.
At the Assistant Manager level, this role is expected to support assigned accounting activities with strong ownership, sound judgment, stakeholder partnership, coaching, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Role Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Global Accounting, supports the financial close process, including reporting, analysis, and process performance across assigned territories, legal entities, or process workstreams within Line of Business.
This role serves as a key liaison between GFO teams, Divisional Finance, local/regional stakeholders, and outsourced providers (e.g., Capgemini), helping to ensure accuracy, efficiency, operational consistency, and continuous improvement.
The Assistant Manager helps prioritize assigned work, coordinates day-to-day follow-up with outsourced providers (e.g., Capgemini), and supports statutory audit requirements, tax reporting processes, and local compliance activities, escalating issues as needed.

What you will do:
The Core Responsibilities of the position will cover the following assigned areas:
Close & Control (Financial Integrity & Compliance)
Support execution of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for assigned areas, which may include LOB, territory, legal entity, or process responsibilities.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of P&L, Balance Sheet, financial reporting, and close outputs aligned with SPE global accounting standards and local statutory requirements as applicable.
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, close schedules, and reporting packages; identify issues and recommend improvements.
Support the analysis and validation of key accounting areas for assigned areas, including revenue, reserves, accruals, inventory, prepaids, deferred revenue, intercompany balances, leases, or other accounting areas as applicable.
Support variance (flux) analysis, investigate key drivers, and escalate operational, accounting, reporting, or compliance risks as appropriate.
Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, company policies, SOX controls, and established operational procedures for assigned areas.
Support statutory reporting alignment, internal and external audit readiness, audit requests, documentation, remediation activities, and issue resolution for assigned areas.
Help ensure integrity of financial statements, disclosures, reporting outputs, and operational accounting support for assigned areas.
Coordinate with outsourced service providers (e.g., Capgemini), including reviewing deliverables, providing feedback, and helping ensure quality and timeliness of output.
Business Support (Insights & Decision Enablement)
Prepare actual vs. budget/forecast analysis and explain variances for assigned areas, highlighting key drivers and actions.
Provide financial insights to support business performance, operational decision-making, and timely issue resolution.
Support ad hoc analysis and reporting for FP&A, Operations, Tax, Treasury, and other stakeholders as applicable.
Analyze financial drivers such as revenue, cost, inventory, cash flow, working capital, or territory/entity impacts as applicable.
Review and interpret financial results at detailed levels (e.g., title, product, territory, legal entity, or process level).
Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, support governance alignment, and contribute to improved financial results.
Serve as a supporting accounting contact to assigned territories, providing guidance on accounting practices and financial reporting requirements as needed.
Prepare and review corporate reporting packages and quarterly submissions, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery in partnership with territories and Corporate Finance.
Identify emerging financial trends and meaningful business insights through analysis, providing recommendations that support informed decision-making and operational performance.
BPO Management & Operational Execution
Coordinate day-to-day with outsourced service provider teams (e.g., Capgemini) for assigned areas.
Monitor service delivery effectiveness, workload management, timeliness, quality, and adherence to process expectations.
Support operational governance, KPI/SLA reviews, issue resolution, and escalation management processes.
Support operational transition, standardization, and process alignment activities across internal and outsourced teams.
Ensure operational execution aligns with established controls, governance framework, and service expectations.
Transformation (Process, Systems & Operational Excellence)
Review and maintain process documentation, including Desk Top Procedures, process maps, and Cadency tasks.
Contribute to process improvement, standardization, and simplification initiatives for assigned areas.
Identify, assess, and escalate process gaps, operational risks, service delivery inefficiencies, and opportunities to eliminate low-value activities.
Support automation and technology enablement initiatives; assist assigned workstreams as appropriate.
Ensure master data integrity and support data governance efforts for assigned areas.
Support implementation of the GFO operating model, Global Close initiatives, and scalable operating practices within assigned areas.
Champion a mindset of continuous improvement, learning, innovation, and operational excellence that strengthens both team capability and business outcomes.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration
Build and maintain relationships with Finance, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Operations, Technology, GFO, and global/regional teams.
Support resolution of operational, accounting, reporting, and process-related issues within assigned areas, escalating as needed.
Communicate effectively across global, regional, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Support a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational consistency.
Coordinate team deliverables by helping with prioritization, follow-up, coaching, and feedback for assigned areas while building capability and accountability across the team.
Develop and maintain standardized templates, desktop procedures, and accounting guidance that promote consistency and operational excellence across assigned territories.
Foster knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration by promoting best practices, documentation standards, cross-training, and continuous learning across the organization.
Champion ESOAR (Eliminate, Standardize, Optimize, Automate, Robotize) principles by encouraging
standardization, innovation, and scalable ways of working across Finance Operations.
What you need:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business; CPA or CPA candidate preferred;
4-6+ years of relevant accounting experience, including close/reporting support;
Prior experience coordinating workstreams or supporting outsourced providers preferred.
Experience supporting LOB, territory, legal entity, or shared service accounting environments is a plus.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), financial reporting, controls, and ERP systems (SAP preferred);
Advanced Excel skills.
Experience with close/reporting tools, Cadency, SAC, BW, or other reporting/automation tools is a plus.

Work Hours
This role requires working a permanent night shift to support U.S. business hours (12am to 9am Manila time). Candidates must be comfortable and able to work this schedule on an ongoing basis.
